Earlier this year I decided to create an infinity bottle. Blending 2oz of multiple bourbons and ryes from my collection into a single decanter and hoping for a good result at the end of the year. This year I blended 15 different whiskies together for the inaugural Space Juice. You can see the methodology and bottles blended below.
Coming in just under 100 proof, this is a fine sipper as is, but you can choose to add a piece of ice, or use this 2oz bottle in a nice old fashioned.
Neat means without water or ice, just whiskey straight up. This blend is perfect neat, and has some really nice fruity and complex notes you might pick up drinking this neat.
On the nose you will be hit with a delicious cherry and vanilla with some oak and cinnamon sneaking behind the wood.
On the taste, vanilla is the overpowering flavor with cedar and young oak following up. There is a hint of malted grain and a light peach syrup, not too strong.
The finish is pretty short with lingering flavor of cinnamon and oak with a light alcohol burn. There is a sweetness feeling like you just ate a sugar cookie and the sweetness is lingering.
Adding a couple drops of room temperature water or an ice cube significantly changes the flavor profile of a whiskey. For this blend, it really dulls down the fruity notes and makes it feel more oily on the finish.
With ice you lose out on the cherry on the nose and the vanilla becomes really strong, still get the cinnamon and oak.
Soft vanilla, just a hint of sweetness and light oak.
Oak and cinnamon coat the tongue and linger for a short time.
An infinity bottle is a practice of patience. Putting different whiskeys in a bottle to blend forever, to infinity. I started this project as an idea to expiriment and share with my friends, and I hope it inspries you to try something similar with your bottles.
Blending this year's bottle was really fun. I added a couple unique componenets that I think come across in the final blend. Being a little more intnetional with the whiskey I added this year to ensure for a really great drink. I hope you enjoy 2024's blend with some finished maple and cherry wood "moonshine".

This is the most frequent question I get when sharing a whiskey. Truth is, everyone experienes things differently so this is going to be very subjective. But I try to explain my process below to help you start on your journey.
To smell whiskey, gently swirl the glass to release the aromas, then bring it to your nose and take short sniffs. This allows you to detect the various scents without overwhelming your senses, helping you identify notes like vanilla, oak, or fruit.
When tasting, take a small sip and let it coat your entire mouth before swallowing. Pay attention to the initial flavors, how they evolve, and the texture of the whiskey, noting elements like sweetness, spiciness, or smokiness.
The finish refers to the flavors that linger after swallowing. Take note of how long these flavors last and how they change over time. Some whiskeys might leave a warm, spicy finish, while others could have a smooth, sweet aftertaste.
